IF Fellow Gundersen Nominated for Wisconsin Honor
December 31, 2015
Dennis Boyer
Adolf Gundersen, Fellow and Trustee of the Interactivity Foundation (IF) has been nominated for election as a Fellow of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters (WASAL) on the basis of his contributions to public conversation and deliberation. WASAL periodically recognizes and honors scholars, civic leaders, and innovators from Wisconsin for their contributions to their fields and benefits to society.
Adolf hails from a noted Norwegian American family from the Mississippi River valley community of La Crosse, Wisconsin. His family has made many contributions to health care, medical science, and civic life in Wisconsin.
Adolf’s nomination was supported by a group of academics, public conversation practitioners, and community activists on the basis of his writings, his public discussion facilitation, and his advancement of broad discussion project efforts in Wisconsin and adjoining states. His efforts brought about the first organized efforts to discuss IF guidebooks in systematic way that could be studied and be used to understand what was happening in nearly 300 discussion series in Wisconsin. It has also led to the application of IF process to other issues and the training of many facilitators in the region. His nomination is for the 2016-2017 period.
