Property ownership has become a fundamental component of democratic capitalist societies. But what is property? What rights are attached to it? Should private property be protected? Or should more property be considered and used for a public good? Ideas and services are increasingly valuable, but do the same old ideas about property still apply? As a society, we are increasingly being asked to reconsider our views on property, its roles in our economy and social life, and the types of property rights we want to support.
